The CHAVORE project, within the EU’s CERV-CHILD program, focuses on supporting the mental and physical well-being of children aged 0 to 6, with a particular emphasis on vulnerable groups such as Roma children. The name CHAVORE reflects the project’s commitment to ensuring the mental well-being of young Roma children and encapsulates its core values and goals (the word CHAVORE in the Romani language/Romani Chib means children).
The main goal of CHAVORE is to enhance the mental health and overall well-being of young Roma children by strengthening the capacity of early childhood practitioners and improving the knowledge and competencies of parents and caregivers. The project also raises awareness about the importance of early mental health support among the public and policymakers.
The project encompasses a range of activities:
Direct beneficiaries are Roma parents of young children (aged 0-6) and Roma/non-Roma early childhood practitioners, while young Roma children aged 0-6 are the ultimate beneficiaries. The indirect beneficiaries of the project include extended families, Roma communities, and other vulnerable groups. This project stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of multiple European countries to create an environment that nurtures the mental and physical well-being of young Roma children.
