BRIDGE is an Erasmus+ project focused on developing gender-sensitive and inclusive education in primary schools, based on equality, respect for diversity and the creation of an environment where children can develop their full potential without being limited by gender stereotypes. The project targets children aged 6 to 12, teachers and school teams.
Particular attention is given to understanding how gender intersects with other dimensions of diversity, such as ethnic and socioeconomic background, as well as to recognising stereotypes and biases within the school environment.
Project Objectives
The project aims to:
strengthen teachers’ competences in recognising and preventing gender stereotypes; empower children to critically reflect on gender roles and respect diversity; develop inclusive and gender-sensitive school practices; promote long-term change in school culture. Activities
Project partners will explore the needs and experiences of teachers and children and, based on the findings, jointly develop a Teacher Toolbox containing practical activities, scenarios, checklists and a digital learning pathway. The materials will be developed and tested through collaboration between teachers, experts and organisations working with minority groups.
The project will also develop a Train-the-Trainer Handbook, providing school-based trainers with support in introducing gender-sensitive practices and contributing to the long-term development of an inclusive school culture.
Expected Results
The main project results will include a Teacher Toolbox, a Train-the-Trainer Handbook, a website featuring project resources, and support for schools in applying the developed tools and integrating gender sensitivity into their long-term practices.
